Dr. Miles H. Overholt is a principal of Riverton Management Consulting Group; professional management consultants who help companies develop corporate strategies and link them to operational objectives. Dr. Overholt is an expert in organizational design and change, and individual change. His professional interests center on implementing organizational change, writing about organizational and individual flexibility, and conducting applied research on how organizations and individuals change to meet external challenges.

He is the author of Building Flexible Organizations: A People-Centered Approach (Kendall/Hunt, 1996). He also has written numerous articles on organizational flexibility and change. His articles have appeared in such journals as Executive Excellence, Human Resource Planning, Information Systems Management, Information Strategy, The Executive's Journal, Personnel Journal, and the Handbook of Business Strategy.

As a consultant, Dr. Overholt leads companies, groups, and individuals through organizational redesign and guided change. His clients include MCI, Johnson & Johnson, the McDonalds' system, and Coopers & Lybrand.

As a researcher, he and his colleagues have developed the Organizational Flexibility Profile® and the Organization Behavior Database®. The Organizational Flexibility Profile® measures alignment, congruency, employee behavior, and organizational performance, and the Organization Behavior Database® are used for benchmarking and research. Currently, he is linking the results of organizational alignment with a variety of outcome measures, including profit, quality and risk measures. He also has developed several trademarked assessment instruments for identifying organization, team, and individual style.

Dr. Overholt has been consulting since the mid-1970's. He earned his Masters and Doctorate degrees at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his B.A. in business and economics from Lafayette College.
