Deborah is the founder and principal of Risk Dynamics,
Inc. a risk management consulting firm that helps business leaders and
senior management teams gain deeper insight into their organizations'
effectiveness in managing business threats. The firm delivers diagnostics,
designs development plans and implements enhancements that measurably
improve risk management performance.
Deborah has twenty-five years experience in the
risk management field helping organizations uncover and resolve risk
management issues through effective combinations of assessment and risk
improvement.
She has developed
and led cross-functional risk management identification, assessment and
improvement projects at senior management and board levels for corporations
in power and utility, outsourced services, public sector, printing/direct
marketing, real estate management and financial services industries.
Prior to Risk
Dynamics, she was a senior executive and managing director with Marsh
McLennan Companies (Marsh) and predecessor firms. As the risk management
optimization practice leader, she built the first formalized risk management
effectiveness consulting and outsourcing models, tools and methodologies
within Marsh.
Deborah was
also a founding member of MMC Enterprise Risk - the group responsible
for the development, implementation and advancement of Marsh McLennan
Companies' enterprise risk management (ERM) initiative. During her tenure
with MMC Enterprise Risk she developed and led the ERM strategy for
utilities and power producers.
Prior to MMC Enterprise Risk, Deborah was managing
director of risk services in the Sedgwick (a predecessor firm) New York
Metro region. She developed the strategic plan and directed the re-organization
of the regional loss control and claims service groups into a successful
profit center. The combined group focused on integrated client-driven
risk management solutions.
As a senior member of Sedgwick's Boston management
team, Deborah developed, staffed and led the first formalized business
development group within Sedgwick North America. The group strategy
and systems were based on consultative processes in client approach,
solution development and communication.
She has authored risk management position papers
including "Risk Insights: Behavioral Risk in Changing Organizations"
for The John Liner Review - Advanced Risk Management Strategies and
is a regularly featured speaker on corporate risk management practices.
Deborah has an MA in Organizational Behavior from
Fairleigh Dickinson University. She obtained a BS in Psychology from
Suffolk University and received her Associate in Risk Management designation
from the Insurance Institute of America.
